Faith That Moves Its Feet.

This is Jesus According to Jesus. This reflection belongs to our Topical Sayings of Jesus collection. Its focus is this: The sayings of Jesus organized by major themes such as sin, repentance, forgiveness, faith, eternal life, judgment, prayer, discipleship, the kingdom of God, and love: gather Jesus’ words around a specific subject rather than…. Listen carefully and think about what Jesus says. Let’s begin.

Faith That Moves Its Feet.

March: A Life of Service and Action.

Jesus does not call people into passive inspiration.

He says, “Follow Me.”

That means movement.

Not vague admiration. Not private spirituality. Not religious language with an unchanged life.

Movement.

March’s Wisdom Keys press us into the visible life of discipleship. Jesus does not merely speak words to comfort the heart. He speaks words that command the hands, the mouth, the wallet, the schedule, the table, the feet, and the whole direction of a life.

He says, “Whoever wants to be great must be your servant.”

That sentence collides with everything we naturally chase.

We want status. Jesus says serve.
We want recognition. Jesus says give.
We want control. Jesus says deny yourself.
We want comfort. Jesus says take up your cross.
We want admiration. Jesus says follow.

Jesus does not define greatness by how many people serve you.

He defines greatness by whether you serve.

The Servant King.

Jesus does not command service from a distance.

He says, “The Son of Man came to serve.”

The One with all authority stooped. The Lord became servant. The King moved toward the needy, the sinful, the ignored, the hungry, the sick, the ashamed, the outcast, and the lost.

So if you claim to follow Jesus while refusing to serve, something is wrong.

A disciple cannot admire the Servant King while despising servanthood.

Jesus’ way is not self-display. It is self-giving.

He says, “Freely you have received; freely give.”

That means grace is not meant to end with you. Mercy received must become mercy extended. Forgiveness received must become forgiveness practiced. Light received must become light displayed.

Jesus says, “Let your light shine before others.”

Not so you can be praised.

So the Father may be glorified.

Love Must Become Visible.

Jesus’ commands are not theoretical.

He says, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Then He goes further:

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

This is where sentimental faith dies.

It is easy to love people who affirm you. It is easy to serve when it costs little. It is easy to give when nothing is threatened. It is easy to speak mercy while keeping your life closed.

But Jesus does not leave love in the realm of feeling.

He makes it visible.

Feed. Give. Forgive. Welcome. Pray. Go. Serve. Bear fruit.

He says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.”

That means the needy are not interruptions to spiritual life. They are one of the places where your response to Jesus becomes visible.

You cannot separate love for Christ from mercy toward people.

Jesus does not allow that kind of religion.

The Disciple Goes.

March also reminds us that discipleship has a mission.

Jesus says, “Go and make disciples.”

He says, “You are My witnesses.”

He says, “Feed My sheep.”

He says, “Bear much fruit.”

The follower of Jesus is not saved into silence. The branch is not joined to the vine so it can remain fruitless. The witness is not given truth so it can be buried under fear.

If Jesus has spoken life to you, you are not called to hide that life.

You are sent.

Not everyone is sent the same way. Not everyone has the same gifts, platform, calling, or assignment. But every disciple is called to visible obedience.

Your home matters.
Your work matters.
Your money matters.
Your words matter.
Your mercy matters.
Your courage matters.
Your obedience matters.

Because Jesus does not ask for a corner of your life.

He says, “Whoever serves Me must follow Me.”

The Decision March Places Before You.

So here is the question:

Are you following Jesus, or merely agreeing with Him?

There is a difference.

Agreement can stay seated.
Admiration can stay distant.
Religious talk can stay safe.
But obedience moves.

The servant serves.
The forgiven gives.
The disciple follows.
The branch bears fruit.
The witness goes.
The light shines.

Jesus does not call you to perform goodness for applause. He calls you to live under His authority, moved by His mercy, for the glory of the Father.

So what will you do with His words this month?

Will you keep admiring Jesus from a distance?

Or will you follow Him with your hands, your money, your time, your mouth, your mercy, and your life?
